The 2009 Girls Softball Team was the first NDHSAA-sanctioned championship team in North Dakota. The West Fargo Packers finished the regular season with a 19-5 record, playing teams from across North Dakota and Western Minnesota. During the state tournament at the Elmwood Park softball complex in West Fargo, the Packers beat the Minot Magi 8-0 and Grand Forks Red River Roughriders 10-0 in the first two rounds of play. The championship featured a close game against the Fargo North Spartans. The Packers scored two sixth-inning runs to secure a 7-6 victory.
