Allan Rust
Allan Rust began a life centered around entertainment in West Fargo High, through drama, musical theatre, and choir. Additionally he performed in several summer musicals at Trollwood Performing Arts School. Before graduating WFHS, he and his brother Darren formed a vocal group called Total Eclipse, performing around town and later moving to Los Angeles. That group disjointed and recombined with members Tim Kasper and Ryan Lance, into what became The Blenders. During that time, Allan remained in Los Angeles to finish his degree at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He began a stint of bi-cosal theatre shows and fronted a few indy-rock bands, bollywood by a four year tenure at the Golden Theatre in Burbank. After working on a few small films, Allan caught the bug for film production and enrolled in a USC sponsored trek for young filmmakers, through LACC. He later dropped out and moved to Minneapolis to rejoin his brother and The Blenders, just finishing their third album recording. Today, The Blenders are celebrating their 25th anniversary. The group records and tours sparingly, allowing each to pursue their individual interests. For Allan his interests have always been widespread. From design to film and live performance, he’s always extending his reach and sharpening new skills. Today, Allan maintains a collection of creative ventures, including BrandHyke, a brand-centric design and strategy firm. He continues to work in film and television as the Interactive Media Producer at Mill Creek Entertainment, as well as founder of Ardent Entertainment, a partnered venture with WFHS alum, Scott Nankivel. Together, they have launched several independent film projects and are currently developing a side venture, “Verbal Lab,” a mobile language learning application for ESL (English as a Second Language) students
