Andrew Sherman

Andrew “Andy” Sherman was born to Douglas and Mary Sherman, and grew up in West Fargo, ND with his older brother and younger sister in a family dedicated to education, hard work, and service. Andrew graduated from West Fargo High School in 1995. After high school, Andrew attended and graduated from DePaul College of Arts and Sciences in Chicago, IL, earning his BS in Biomedical Sciences. From 2000-2002, Andrew served in the US Peace Corps in Senegal West Africa as a Rural Health Volunteer. Upon returning to the United States, Andrew attended Medical School at Saint Louis University School of Medicine graduating in 2008. In 2005 while attending medical school, Andrew co-founded Netlife, which is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide evidence-based malaria prevention assistance to rural areas in West Africa. Andrew continues to serve as co-President of Netlife today.

 

Andrew completed both his Pediatric Residency and Academic General Pediatric Fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. During his Pediatric Fellowship, Andrew also obtained his Masters in Public Health from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry; graduating with an MPH in 2014. Today, Andrew serves as a Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, is a Global Child Advocacy Residency Education (CARE) Assistant Director, and is a Primary Care Provider at Rochester Regional Health-Bay Creek Pediatrics. Outside of his professional responsibilities as a physician and assisting with the operations of Netlife, Andrew and his wife Chrystal enjoy an active home with their two sons, as well as spending time with family and friends.
