David Samson, son of Duke and Pat Samson, is a 1978 graduate of West Fargo High School. Samson grew up on a horse farm near Harwood and was an active member in his neighborhood 4-H program. Samson graduated from Moorhead Tech with a degree in Commercial Art and Moorhead State University with a degree in Mass Communications. He joined the West Fargo Pioneer staff in 1981 as a photographer while attending college documenting the growing community for the weekly newspaper. He went to work for The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead after the Pioneer was purchased by Forum Communications in 2005. His work has appeared in newspapers across the county. He was a youth hockey coach with the West Fargo Park Board and West Fargo Hockey Association. He is involved with the North Dakota Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and is a member of Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church. Samson lives in West Fargo with his wife Andrea, who teaches math at Cheney Middle School. Samson is the brother to West Fargo High graduates Lisa Toenies and the late Cheryl Samson.
