Janice Leidal

Janice Leidal was born to Bennett and Ellen Kauth.  Janice was raised in Hunter,  ND with 1 sister and graduated from Hunter High School. Following high school Janice attended and graduated from Mayville State Teachers College with a two-year Associates Degree in Elementary Education.

In 1958, upon completion of college, Janice accepted a position as a 3rd grade teacher in West Fargo.  Janice went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree and Masters degree in Elementary Education from Moorhead State University in Moorhead, MN. Janice taught in West Fargo for 40 years. Her teaching career spanned 7 schools and hundreds of beloved kindergarten students. During her teaching career, Janice was honored as teacher of the year twice. Janice retired from teaching in 2002.

Janice’s life after teaching has included dedicated civic volunteer work within the West Fargo community, as well as volunteering with her church. In 2007 Janice received the Civic Excellence Award from the West Fargo Chamber of Commerce. Janice and her husband have lived in West Fargo since 1960 and have been married for 59 years. They enjoy spending time with their family which includes three children, six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
